Craft Ideas to Make With Jesus Raises Lazarus Coloring Pages

Discover the wonder of Jesus’ power through our collection of art projects.  Ideal for Sunday school teachers, parents, or anyone inspired by biblical stories, these crafts are easy to do with supplies you likely have at home.

1. Scripture Scrolls

Create unique artwork that carries the word of God and the history of Jews.  Choose a coloring page from our free resources and fill it with your favorite colors.  On translucent paper, write verses from the Holy Bible that tell the story of Lazrus’ resurrection (John 11:38-44 NIV). Staple the paper to the colored sheet. Then, glue craft sticks horizontally at both ends of the page to create a scroll. Roll up the scroll and tie it with a ribbon, making an enlightening gift for good friends or a visual aid for sermons.

2. Radiant Resurrection Reflections

Craft divine light catchers to show the illuminating story of Lazarus with every beam of sunlight. Print a scene from these Bible coloring pages onto translucent paper. Color in the design. Add some tissue paper to create a stained-glass effect.  Hang the finished design in a Sunday school window as a daily reminder of the Lord Jesus’ miracles.

3. From Tomb to Triumph

Make a 3D sculpture to represent Lazarus’ resurrection. Complete a variety of coloring pages using different shades and patterns. Cut out the figure of Jesus from one of the pages. Trim the other pages into small shapes.  To create the tomb, create a paper mache mix: one part flour to two parts water, stirring until you get a smooth, glue-like consistency.  Layer torn strips of newspaper over a small bowl using the mixture. Typically, four layers of paper mache will ensure a strong mold. For the final layer, use your colored cutout shapes. Once dry, glue the sculpture to a piece of cardboard, leaving it open to represent the empty tomb.  Cover the base in green tissue paper and origami flowers. Use real rocks and foliage to recreate the garden in the story. Place the Jesus cutout in the garden. (Optional: use cardstock to create additional cutouts of Jesus’ disciples, Lazarus, and his sisters, Martha and Mary.) This sculpture serves as a beautiful centerpiece for Easter celebrations, reminding everyone of Jesus’ power of resurrection.

4. Prayers and Promises

Turn a plain notebook into the perfect place to write your personal reflections and prayers. Use a colored page that illustrates Jesus’ power and compassion. Trim and glue the colored page to the front of a plain notebook. Decorate the inside cover with a quote from Luke or other parts of the New Testament about faith and hope. Inside the notebook, encourage spiritual growth through the writing of prayers, hymns, and the Lord’s teachings.

5. Rising Revelations

Celebrate the end of an era with a pop-up card that symbolizes new beginnings. Color one of the free printables, using vibrant shades to bring the story to life.  Carefully trim the Jesus figure, making sure to leave a tab at the bottom.  Fold a piece of cardstock in half to create the card base.  Glue the tab at the bottom of the figure to the card so that it pops up when opened. Write a Bible verse from the King James Bible about resurrection inside the card to inspire the recipient on their new journey. Gift these cards to friends who are graduating, starting a new job, or moving away.
